It's been 5 months since a SUAD was posted. The biggest reason was we got
our ass handed to us by hurricane Ike Sept 13th, 2008. We have slowly
recovered although still have small blue FEMA tarp on roof anf 5 ton AC is
in pieces from tree dropping on it. On the other hand, will take this as
opposed to those folks east of us whose homes are only slabs. Or the bodies
still being found near Bolivar and Goat Island in debris fields. With that
being said, this is a free service in hopes that some of these cars find
new, good homes. The economy is in the shitter and has been for awhile,
never in my life seen so many foreclosures, banks failing and job losses.
And with it comes many things people will sell to have some sort of income
come in. Antiques, coin collections, star wars collectibles, comic books,
boats, skidoos, and yes, old cars. So there is a huge amount of old cars
being dumped into the market, including AMC models. A look at that 69 AMX by
motoexotica that has been listed on ebay for 6+ months is a example, started
at $32K and now at $16K/or best offer and STILL there. So if you can find a
bank that will lend you money, or have some $$$ stashed away you didn't lose
to Stanford Financial, AIG, Bernie Madeoff or other ponzi schemes, good, now
has been time to buy a old AMC.
And I may add that a old AMC is just the tonic for a bad economic time as it
is a wonderful stress valve (unless you bust your knuckles with old bolt)
but great to work on old car, and go to cruise nights and shows and events
