AM/FM/Cassette radio
These brand new retro looking analog radios feature a input for modern iPod & MP3 players. Designed to look like the original AMC radios from 1970s which were built by Motorola, RCA, Krako & later Mitsubushi, AMC never made their own radios. These NEW decks easily fit into most dash provisions in classic AMC & Jeep Series with little or no modifications to the dash.
Original 1960s/1970s AMC AM/FM radios are tough to find and expensive when found. The fact is, few people opted for a AM/FM in a 68-70 AMX, or a AM/8track in say, 71-74 as the radios were $150-$250 IN 1970 DOLLARS! So when you consider a new 1974 Javelin could be bought off lot for $2550, adding a AM/FM Multiplex of AM/8 Track was out of question for most people. So few exist.
I may add that many companies will NO LONGER WORK ON your original 1960s/1970s radios as the transistors for AM/FM are no longer made, and many of the belts are also not available for 8 track type.
The idea for this new, vintage looking radio was from a Corvette at the paint shop around corner which had a modern, CD playing type radio vertically installed but vintage Chevrolet decal on front, which made it look era correct if you discount CDs not around in 1965.
