Abusing Paypal & Trying To Scam People Using Paypal & FedEx
I had a asshole AMCer try a different twist. However, paypal stepped in and stopped them in their tracks. I had heard all sorts of horror stories about paypal and how sellers get scammers, but it seems to me unfounded, at least with this one incident. With that in mind, here is a timeline and actual emails.
There is always 2 sides to story and only naive would believe I have been helping AMCers since AMC was still in business and still enjoy it and not have a good reputation, sans for one or two assholes I guess!
Speaking of assholes, the big anus Klandy was allowed on the amcforum, too bad that is like letting McCauley Calkin spend the night with Michael Jackson. Now! Here is the old Klandy Files from when he was repeatedly kicked off the amxfiles years ago, which he then got kicked off Frans amcforum, now will be allowed to destroy yet another website, great job mods!
This here just reeked however as there were WAY too many RED FLAGS.
I sold a 71-74 package tray for a AMX to 'Chigago Don' a Donald Meisner February 3rd, 2009. He used paypal. I sent him the item February 4th, 2009. He 'claims' to have not opened it until May. He said then it was damaged. So I contact FedEx and first words from FedEx Claims is 'who waits 4 months to open package' and 'you have 21 day window to file claim' So he orders another! June 1st, 2009, and it sent out immediately, but it gets there and he REFUSES it, claiming "it was damaged also" so FedEx guy took it back and sent it to me. Keep in mind NO ONE EVER SAW THE FIRST ALLEGED DAMAGED ONE.......I filed with FedEx and they paid me for the 2nd one. However, in the meantime, being good guy I am....I boxed up THIRD one without asking, knowing his car was in shop, and sent it to him unannounced! This was June 7th, 2009.
Then it gets stupid I guess because I wrecked his axis of evil plan. First, FedEx was not going to pay anyone for the first one. Too much time had passed. I got paid for second one from FedEx, but sent him third one to make up for that payment. I contacted FedEx to talk to the head of claims asking 'do they have either the clumsiest delivery guy there' (in Richmond, IL) 'or does this guy have a history of filing damaged goods reports with Fedex' they could track, as have sent these package trays all over world no problems, and rarely do I have a FedEx claim, so it is highly UNLIKELY you will have TWO CLAIMS FROM SAME GUY for SAME ITEM shipped to SAME ADDRESS.
In the meantime, in mid June, paypal comes into the scene.......I get email from paypal saying that Don Meisner has filed a claims saying "he never received the item" and their fraud department asks me to send proof of sending. Not only do I do that but also alert them to this guy trying so scam me, paypal, and/or fed/ex. Paypal shuts down his claim same day he filed it, as they now had my FedEx record. Then he files another claim (gee, do you see a pattern here?) saying 'item not as received' of which I was able to show that it was indeed received and he USED IT on his car (the third tray). They shut down that SECOND claim in minutes as he is now grasping at straws.
In the meantime......this asshole has called a staggering amount of times, OVER 30 TIMES, using three different phone numbers...IN ONE DAY. Granted, I always answer my phone unless telemarketers, but I was "buying time" due to the open FedEx investigation, of which they were going to call me with results that day, or next day. So until I had word from them, was not going to speak with Donald. Paypal had already ruled in my favor TWICE realizing he was attempting to abuse their system, now only wait for FedEx. Not one, but BOTH district managers called me from Illinois letting me know that (A) there was nothing they could do about his package he claims was damaged 6 months ago; and (B) there was no evidence of problems with deliveries at that address, and (C) their driver is friendly and careful and concientious and long time driver of that route who indicated there was not a problem at that address. So all clear.
In the meantime I had already gotten veiled threats from this asshole, and comments about my deceased dad 'being proud' (dad would have been proud I stood up to asshole scammer) so figured before this dumbass decides to talk about EDDIE'S CRAP (on the amcforum) here is a timeline of events.
Let it be a warning to anyone that when to attempt to scam like this guy did, paypal will flag your account and watch you like a hawk....as will fedex.
=====================================
This was my reply to him after paypal and fedex investigations, (both in my favor) and will go BACKWARDS to initial Feb 3rd sale.

favor.
================================
FROM ME June 17th, 2009;
Dear Don, while my phone has been sporadic at best since the April 28th flood, I did
notice you called today, 06.16.09 from phone numbers 847-650-9265 and 815-678-2504 at the
following times: 9:22am; 9:24; 9:36; 9:37; 9:39; 9:41; 9:44; 9:46; 9:50; 9:52; 9:52; 9:55;
9:59: 10:05; 10:08: 10:13; 10:18; 10:21 (from 847-872-6300): 10:24: 10:27: 10:40; 10:44;
11:00; 11:30; 11:41; 11:52: 11:59 then gave it a break until 5:28PM CST. (and later called
more)
I talked to FedEx, not once but several times in the Richmond, IL hub of Carol Stream,
IL.
They told me first at the 800-463-3339 FeEx number that they have a 21 day claim time
window. This means that "if" the package shelf I sent you in February was indeed
damaged,
there is no recourse, something I mentioned to you on phone. They also asked me 'who waits
4 months to open packages' indicating that possibly they didn't believe you. This was
PACKAGE #1 on/about 02.03.09 I sent. For records this was tracking 468400410105379 sent
Feb 3rd, 2009.
The first I heard it might be damaged was recently...late May/early June. I also
mentioned
to you that this was between you and FedEx, not me. So you ordered another. This is
PACKAGE #2. Tracking ID 468400410126657. This was the one you paid for by paypal and was
shipped 06.02.09 and was indeed damaged and you refused shipment and sent it back. I
received it here back in Houston. When you told me it was damaged by FedEx, I, without
asking, sent ANOTHER, which this is PACKAGE #3 468400410127159, 06.07.09. It arrived
fine
according to FedEx in Carol Stream. I talked to not one, but two managers, Arlean and
Robert to see if there was a problem with shipping in that area, or with the customer. No
on both counts, and they also talked to their driver of your area.
Today between the countless calls you have made, which my FAX machine went off on you,
I
received a email from Paypal with a "New Item Not Received" Buyer's name: donald
meisner
Buyer's email: eanda5812@juno.com
Transaction ID: 1BP43173GE965751N
Transaction date: Jun 1, 2009; Transaction amount: $55.00 USD; Your transaction ID:
4WK52964TR327705K
To which I was able to contact FedEx...again, and they assured me that you did receive
PACKAGE #3. FedEx has already paid me for damaged PACKAGE #2. Package #1 is out of
question as too long of time had passed. I also contacted Paypal to see if this was a
fraud attempt, they were not happy with someone claiming they had not received something
when in fact they did, and I had records to back it up. So I promptly gave Paypal the
information the operator needed and they closed the ficticious claim you made with them.
"Thank you for providing the requested information in a timely manner. As stated in
our
User Agreement, PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy only applies to the shipment of goods, not
to claims about the attributes or quality of goods received. Therefore, this investigation
has been closed and no action has been taken."
Paypal also said they monitor accounts and with the repeated attempts you tried to
defraud
me thru paypal withg item not received and item not as described BS they have all that on
record.
I shipped items to you in good faith, and you paid for them in good faith. I am sorry
that
if PACKAGE #1 early in the year was damaged, you have 21 days to contact FedEx. Not 4+
months. That is like buying a Happy Meal and waiting 4 months to find out McDonald's
didn't add fries of toy.
Since you emailed me off ebay, I will reply THRU Ebay so they, along with Paypal, and
later, a copy will be sent to FedEx of this so will be on the record in case you attempt
to defraud me, paypal, ebay or fedex. I have also blocked you from bidding on
anything I
may ever drop on ebay, simply to avoid the drama associated with a simple transaction of
buying parts for old car. I am sorry about PACKAGE #1 if it really did get damaged, and
FedEx told me there is no chance you could switch boxes since you attempted to try this
thru paypal.
No, I am not issuing refund, especially on something you waited 4 months to open. And
two,
the 3rd one was sent and delivered undamaged according to FedEx.

Bottom line is you will always have some asshole trying to scam you, whether restaurants 'rounding out'
your change, to local convienence store telling you your lotto ticket is no good, whatever. And my hats off
to Paypal and FedEx for both quickly, and throughly seeing this was a scam and shtu it down on both
their ends thru investigations.
